Dean | General Manager
Dean is the founder and general manager of Pronto Finance, and set the company up after working in the finance industry for a number of years. Studying Commerce at the University of Otago and then international business at Bocconi University, Dean was always interested in technology and finance. After seeing the frustration amongst customers with established finance companies (usually being run by old bankers), he built a fintech platform that could offer much faster and fairer personal loans.
Dean’s spare time is spent skiing over winter and surfing and kitesurfing over summer. The team don’t listen to him much 😜, so you’ll often find him running ‘team building exercises’ with the office dogs. He also runs a small foundation to help out in the Nelson and Marlborough regions.
Shay | Credit Manager
Shay is the credit manager at Pronto and is our longest serving employee. She studied a Bachelor of Information Technology at NMIT and takes care of everything from new loans, credit control all the way down to those frustrating IT issues (mostly Dean jamming the printer).
In her spare time she loves to watch Netflix with her two puppies (who come into work on Fridays and are our trainee ‘security guards’). Shay likes to keep fit getting out and about in the beautiful Nelson/Tasman region.
Luiz | Lending Consultant
Luiz joined the team after working overseas in a range of marketing and management positions, and is responsible for new loans and customer queries.
In his spare time Luiz is the lead singer of local band, so he's been excluded from all staff karaoke parties. But he's an ace with the playlists, so has stepped in for Sarah as the office DJ.
Hannah | Lending Consultant
Hannah is our most experienced lending consultant, and she oversees both new loans and refinances, whilst taking care of the HR and admin roles. She joined the team after completing a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Canterbury, and has played a vital role as the company has expanded over the years.
Hannah is a top level netballer here in Nelson, having won a number of premier titles. She spends all of her spare time chasing after her cheeky but beautiful Labrador, who spends a couple of days in the office each week and is our official ‘security guard.’
Mikayla | Lending Consultant
Mikayla was head hunted after her success with one of New Zealand’s most well known companies. She’s born and raised in Nelson, attending Garin College. Mikayla deals with new loans and assists with the credit control team. She will often be the person you speak to when you call us on the freephone number.
When she’s not at work Mikayla is making the most of the great weather in Nelson, hunting, fishing and trying to tire out her boisterous Hungarian Vizsla (who she claims is too hyperactive to bring into the office 😞)
Maria | Lending Consultant
Maria is our newest lending consultant, having worked overseas for a number of years. She's in our new lending team, so you'll most likely speak to her when applying for a new loan.
When she's not approving new loans, Maria loves to belt out a few tunes at karaoke and making the most of the great weather at the beach. While also chasing the cold weather over the winter months with her family.
Sarah | Lending Consultant
Sarah deals with a range of tasks, from lending to admin as well as credit control. She grew up in the UK and moved to Nelson before attending Waimea College. Sarah’s in charge of the office playlist, and was voted ‘Best music choice 2020.’ Sarah wasn’t at work when we took our staff ‘pictures’, but we’ll get an updated image on here soon.
In her spare time Sarah loves taking her beautiful girls on adventures, and will often be found down at the beach building sandcastles (with the kids, not by herself).
